Family-based Petitions

We represent clients who are working to bring family members to the United States. The visas we help to obtain can include spousal and child petitions as well as the following:

  • K-1 is also known as a fiance' visa, for foreign nationals who wish to get married in the US to their potential American spouse
  • K-3 visas expedite obtaining a green card following marriage overseas
  • U visas for victims of crimes like domestic violence, sexual assault or human trafficking

Becoming a Permanent Resident

Within three to five years of receiving your green card, you are eligible to apply for citizenship in the United States. As a citizen, you will have the right to vote and obtain social services among other liberties and may pass citizenship to children under age 18.

Our attorneys work with you to prepare for the process of naturalization. They help you to prepare for the citizenship test and attend the application interview with you.

In applying for permanent residence, many of our clients find they already have derivative citizenship. It is possible that they are United States citizens because their parents or grandparents are citizens.
